NEXT LEVEL 3on3 BASKETBALL COMMUNITY

About

Rebuilding Youth Basketball Through Playing 3on3

Remember when the best basketball was played at the park? No politics, no overcoaching, no standing around — just players competing, learning, and getting better. Next Level 3on3 is bringing that energy back. With fewer players on the court, every athlete gets more touches, more shots, more space, and more chances to make real decisions under pressure.

A Midwest 3on3 case study has shown that players received 56% more passes, made 175% more passes, had 4 times more on-ball defensive opportunities, and averaged 40.5 touches in 20 minutes compared to 25.2 touches in 5on5.

This summer, we’re hosting 3on3 leagues and tournaments throughout the LA, Compton, and Carson areas for boys and girls ages 7–8, 9–10, 11–12, and 13+. Games follow FIBA 3on3 rules with 8-minute games, 4-player teams, and players choosing their own squads.

Entry is only $20 per player, and to help motivate the competition, the winning team takes home a $200 first prize. Less players. More touches. More development. Real basketball is back.

Using Technology to Fuel Greatness!

"Stats Don't Lie!"  I like using technology as a teaching tool to engage players in the learning process.  I believe accountability is the secret sauce of coaching. I have been privileged to witness huge, quick changes because of it. We created a Next Level 3on3 Mobile App for our players complete with coaching points, computer animated plays, drills and game statistic. Now players can stay inform and updated on game high-lights, new play sets, and  player's rankings right from their smart phones.

All games are videotaped and  stats are taken on every player's. I find using video is an excellent tool  to hold players accountable for lack effort and  repeated mistakes. Of course taking the time to videotaped, and evaluate footage is time consuming, but the reward is it accelerates the learning curb for players when watching themselves on screen.

Finally,  I found using statistics to rank players from 1 to 16,  creates a competitive environment to be Number #1 each night, and earn "Baller Bucks" for their effort. But more importantly, statistic provides transparent communication between coach and player on getting better, and  everyone knows where very one is ranked after each workout.

5 Reasons why playing 3on3 is more beneficial for young players skill development.

Practice Plan

Our 60-minute workout provides very little down time in between reps, and games. Our goal is to get as many shots up at game speed, with game pressure playing 3on3.
